Vakufska Banka in cooperation with BamCard launched the PINviaSMS service

BamCard director Alma Ahmić and member of the Management Board of Vakufska banka Elma Zukić presented a new PINviaSMS service that will enable clients to receive a PIN and information on the possibilities of taking a new or replacement bank card via SMS. The service is free for all customers, and for security reasons, the customer changes the PIN during the first access to the ATM.

“The PINviaSMS project refers to the implementation of the technical infrastructure for the delivery of PINs via SMS. The growing use of mobile phones and heightened concerns about the security of PIN delivery by mail has prompted BamCard to explore new channels for delivering PINs to end-users. PINviaSMS is a more advanced solution that enables the Bank to deliver PINs securely to mobile phones via SMS. ” said Alma Ahmić, director of BamCard.

PINviaSMS is an innovative service and involves the electronic distribution of PIN code, directly to the cardholder on a mobile phone via SMS, in such a way that the client initiates sending a PIN with his signature at the Bank when taking possession of the card and can be considered a much safer way of distribution than sending a PIN by mail.

“Vakufska banka is constantly working on improving its products and services. By implementing this project, we want to speed up our business and make the process of receiving PINs and cards easier for our clients. This new service on the market will enable customers to use our services safely, easily, and reliably. ” said Elma Zukić, a member of the Management Board of Vakufska banka.

For cardholders, a PIN received via SMS is far more convenient than a PIN received via conventional channels. This is reflected in the fact that the delivery of the PIN is immediate, regardless of where the cardholder is currently located, while the delivery of the PIN by mail required a physical presence at the address. In this way, the cards can be activated faster and the time interval between receiving the card and the PIN (which can be up to 10 days) is eliminated.

BamCard points out that the product is very well accepted on the market and solutions are being implemented with several other banks in BiH, and gives its gratitude to Vakufska banka, which, recognizing the needs of its customers, was the first to provide PINviaSMS.
